Here is an old one. S&W 3rd model, cal. 38SW. Best I can tell it was made in 1888 and sold in a lot to the German army. My Dad took it from a German officer in N. Africa in 1943, he said the man didn't need it anymore, and he carried it ever since, until he died. Then it became mine. It looks much better than the cell phone pictures. It's in excellent condition, still locks up tight and shoots well.

A project I'm working on, a 1851 navy converted to cartridge, 38 colt heel base. Got to make another, higher front sight though. Barrel cut down to 5", action tuned and trigger set at 2 pounds. Black powder loads, of course.
