The magazine follower spring is a bit worn so it doesn’t always lock open when empty but I have never had a failure besides that when running this pistol.
Turnbull let me use my US Army service number for the S/N. I've got almost 100 round through it and it's breaking in nicely. It's a better shooter than I am.
I picked up a couple of Colt 1903 hammerless this month. The nickel pistol was manufactured in 1923 and was refinished sometime in the late '50s or early '60s. The blued pistol left Hartford in 1939. I put new springs in both of them and got 'em to the range last week. They're both good shooters.
I purchased a Springfield SA-35 in December and sent it to BH Spring Solutions for some 'smithin' work. I like the way it came back. I got it out to the range last week and ran 12 mags through it. It's a shooter.
Traded some AR parts for this 1980 Colt Mk IV Series 70 today and it’s seen here getting acquainted with my daily carry USP45. The current plans call for a deep cleaning and a range visit to check function.
Those years were the best for colt. That is a fine looking 70 series!
