I was just beginning to regain faith in the new Sig but at a premium price, there's no point in buying a handgun that has less quality than a used one with better QC.

The pictures in that thread are very alarming. Not what I expected coming out of Sig Germany.

My suggestion is to buy pre-2004 Sigs. They have great parts, plenty of life, better QC and will cost about 60% of what a new one off the line is.

Tony.

and it doesnt look like any US manufacturer makes a traditional DA/SA pistol anymore, all single action or striker fired

I have heard that the massachusetts state police tested the new sigs for possible adoption.

They were rejected because of parts being soft and wearing out prematurely.

I don't know if it was small or major parts.

I don't think mine is cast, but I looked at it and if it is oh well. I will shoot it anyway.

Caspian 1911 frames are cast and no one complains about their QC, longevity and craftsmanship.

Had a SIG in 9mm and did not like it. Would not fire about half of the the Eygptian milsurp I tried in it. I much prefer the Browning Hi Power which fires any 9mm ammo with no problems.
