I don't know how many of you know about these but they are really nice. If you don't like the plastic or hollow steel guide rod, there's a guy named Steve Bedair who makes solid guide rods. I bought one for my incoming P226 but went ahead and installed it on my current P226. It looks good!

If the incoming 226 has a hollow guide rod, I'll be ordering another one of these. Some 90's vintage 226's came with a solid guide rod.

That's also the perfect place for a Lasermax laser sight. I've had one in my 229 for almost 15 years. Works like a charm!

Some claim it dampens recoil with the extra weight but I can't say yet as I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet.
