Earthquake
I have been shooting and hunting with a 44 Mag since 1970, including one Safari to Zimbabwe.
I carried a Freedom Arms 475 Linebaugh to Zimbabwe on my next 2 Safaris.
I have shot 480 Ruger ammo in my 475L FA.
I consider the 480 Ruger to be about midway between the 44 Mag and the
457L.
Which is a great place to be.
For all game under giraffe, cape buff, and elephant the 480 Ruger, is a good choice. IMHO of course.
