I should have added the other frame sizes I just did not think of it at the time, but I have to admit I dont have any thing on a "L" or "X" frames [you forget the X frame] and I love my Blackhawk's and Super Blackhawk's too.

I carry a smith 1911ss for a main pistol and a 80's model 60 with crimson trace for a backup. Some of the best you can buy and carry.

Master a wheelgun, and self loaders are much less impressive!
Match me on round count and I'll humble your auto most of the time. And, see how many shots you can get off from a pocket or otherwise constricted way of shooting. That auto just became a heavy single shot!!

Hi. The largest pistol I have shot was the 500 Linebaugh. Recoil was fearsome, but manageable. I would have no problem going after a some of the wild hogs we have around here.
The largest pistol I have ever seen anyone shoot was the 500 S&W. I declined the offer to shoot it after I saw what it did to my shooting partners forehead. I thought the recoil of the Linebaugh was bad, it was nothing compared to the 500 S&W. The recoil broke the skin on his head and he started bleeding like a stuck hog. I had him use paper napkins and a little compression to stop the bleeding while I got the first aid kit out of my vehicle. Once we got the bleeding stopped he fired off the remaining shots without further incidents. He asked me if I want to shoot it. I respectful declined as I have small hands and wrists. I wasn't sure I could control it. Before we left the range a bump had already formed on his forehead. He also had one hell of a headache.
The largest rifle I have ever fired was the 577 Nitro Express. I was told to stand straight up and flat footed. After shooting both barrels I understood the logic behind that advice. It is not a rifle I would want to shoot from the prone position. Don

A picture is worth 1,000 words, right?
S&W Model 25-2 (1976)
Colt Model 357 (1959)
They're more accurate than any semi-auto I've ever shot except a Les Baer 1911. No "break in" required either... and not just for ladies!

I definately never feel "under armed" when carrying my S&W 3" model 610 10mm...if i run out of ammo I can always use it as a club.
