I think I decided what to go with

After contemplating what I want and what I can afford. I'm going to go with a Sig caliber X-change kit. It fits the budget for what I got out of my Glock sale. It's $300 and will give me a gun I'm already familiar with chambered in 9mm now.

I really want a German 220 and 226, but I'll just have to wait until another opportunity arises.

I am hopeful with this kit. I was doing really well with failure drills with my 228 so I am interested to see how I do with a full size 226 in 9mm with a stainless slide.

Ive got a 226 enhanced elite, tonyben. It a very accurate pistol, and its never jammed and or had issues. I hope you enjoy it.

Well, I changed my mind again and I'm going to buy a surplus 226 from Wideners on Monday. I'm going to call it my next overhaul project. I'll most likely refinish it in DuraCoat and I'll send the steel to Losok for Salt Nitride. I'm going to do a before and after thread on it when I do.

I carried a European release P-220 for several years as my duty weapon and it was a nice weapon but I eventually went back to the good old reliable 1911.

The reason being, I worked a bad wreck with multiple injuries in the pouring rain one night. Then I had to go to county court the next morning on a felony DUI case, so I changed out of my wet uniform into civies.

I left my P-220 in the wet holster in the trunk of my Crown Vic over the weekend because tired as I was when I finally got home, I forgot all about it.

The next Monday afternoon when I went out to the car to get my Sam Browne belt, my Sig's slide had turned into red rust. I cleaned it up the best I could and soon traded it off for one of the first Randall stainless 1911's that I still own. The Randall had printed on the box, the only stainless 1911 fit for duty. I was very impressed with the service that full sized 1911 gave me which is why I still own it. Years later I ended up buying a new stainless Colt Combat Commander that I carried up until I retired in 04. I still own the Commander as well...

Smile On the way....

Well, I put it on order today. Apparently, these are in good condition and the only thing really wrong with them is lots of holster wear.

I hope to see it next week and I'll post pics when I do.
