| I can just tell by body language and persona that Les Baer is a decent guy that I would get along great with. I hate to hear when someone is so high and mighty that they think they can treat a "regular person" like a pest. I despise those people.
Hey Ed Brown, you lost the sale(s) you were going to get from me. I don't care how good your pistols are. |

I don't know what goes through a CEO's head when he thinks he can run his business by treating his customers like sh!t. Sure, you sold a lot. But lets see you keep selling that many when the word slowly trickles out about how much of an ass you are to your customers.

Interesting. Earlier today, I emailed a link to this post to a friend who is a doctor and he emailed back the following:
"I work with a guy who has an Ed Brown. He is an experienced shooter...had trouble with the gun and called. Said he spoke to Ed's son who was rude to him and told him he must be limp wristing it...to send them back the gun and a bunch of boxes of ammo for them to use to test it. My associate was mad, stuck the gun in his safe, and said he has never used it since.
So, I would not even consider buying one of those!"
JR
It is sad that owners think they can be rude and get away with it; looks like he has for many years but in today's internet world....that might not work too well.

Maybe I'll try one next handgun purchase.

Had ordered some Ed Brown parts for Brownells. They are in the mail but will be sending them back when they arrive. Too bad he has to be so rude!

I have a write up on Les featuring that Boss 1911 and his Grabber Green 70 Boss 429. The guy is a gearhead as much as he is a gun buff. He is pretty cool. For 2100 that boss 1911 isn't bad deal. Shoot I wish I had money, I'd order one.

Thanks for posting that. One of my friends here at work *was* an Ed Brown fan, who *was* saving up for one of his pistols. Until I sent him this youtube video..

I still want a Ed Brown pistol. He may be rude but his 1911s are very well made and speak for themselves. Les Baer builds his guns way to tight and it takes about 500 rounds just to get them to cycle right. It will be a long time before this old poor boy gets one though.

| I have to disagree bigblock. I have two Custom Carry pistols and yes, they are very tight and...
I have never had a malfunction ever with either one. I also don't do business with jerks if I know about the truth first. |

I currently have 4 Baers and a 5th on order, I've talked to Les on the phone various times and he even built me a custom slide stop for one of my TRS's for me no charge. I needed it to work with a particular type of magizine and I was having issues with the original slide stop. He is a nice, no nonsense, opinionated guy like the rest of us. Dollar for dollar he builds the best semi-custom 1911 available today IMHO.
It may not be the best looking, the best finished, but once broken in they do what they are suppose to do, run and run reliably.
