New XDs Concealed 45. ACP

I dont know if some of you or any of you have seen this but SAI has come out with another XD that is expected to be availbe in March. It is a full .45ACP conceal carry pistol. Claiming to be no greater than 1" wide at its widest point. There is a down side though. Due to its size it is going to be a 5+1 capacity so you will probably want an extra gun or several additional mags. I am persoally planning to pick one of these up for my concealed carry when they release. If I am alone on that? Well we will see I guess. Here is the video.

Meh.

I don't think I will be running out and buying one, as long I still have my Colt officer's for a concealed carry piece. I have 7+1 rounds of 45acp with a couple of spare 8-rd Wilson Combat mags in my pockets. Not saying the new XD doesn't have its place, or that people won't buy them, but 5-rd mags? That's why I sold my j-frame 38!

Agreed
If I wanted to go back to a 6 shooter, I'd just dig out the Model 66 2 1/2 incher.

I'll stick with a full size 5" 1911 with 8.

I'm a .45 lover...but 5 shots and an automatic (not of JMB design) with the inherent reliability issues? I would take a 66 too.

I think you are like me, I just don't find the 5" 1911 that hard to carry or conceal. This is a fix to a problem I don't have.

Considering you can carry open or concealed in TN with a permit (I carry concealed) I don't find it difficult to carry and conceal a 5" 1911.

I don't have any problem concealing a 5" 1911, but it's even easier with a 3.5" and compact frame.
