A pair of old Nazis

P08 S/42 (1936) and P38 byf43 (1943)

Part of a collection of Mauser pistols Ive been working on for a few years now.
The P38 is matching and the Luger is all matching including one of the magazines being the latest addition to the group.

Thanks from Beavis1971 and Bronco Dog

Very nice pistols. I love the Luger, it really is a beauty, nice strong straw colors.

Thumbs up Research, still the best game in town......

Beautiful looking set Parabellus, the pictures tell a good story on how you take care of them. Thanks

What was the key used for above the Luger?

Of course I would never store them in the holsters.
The key-like object is a take-down tool used as a screwdriver for the grips and to turn/release the striker. It is also a loading aid as the hole fits over the magazine follower button as you pull down on the flange against the mag-spring.

Very nice pistols. I have almost the same thing, except my Luger was made in 37 by Mauser and my P38 was made by Walther in 44. I got mine the hard way, I inherited them when my dad passed in 89.

Then yours are truly keepsakes.
Would you post a picture or two of them here?

Germany is what a little bigger than the state of Ohio. It's hard to believe a country that small almost brought down the whole World. If he wouldn't have made just a few mistakes, there is probably a good chance we might be speaking German right now.

Just happen to have a couple of the old bringback Nazi warhorses myself...

BYF 41...

And an old classic...

Here they are together...

Sorry for the quality of the pics...I definitely need to shoot some new ones!

I also happen to have another that was intended for the Nazis but was locked up in Spanish Customs due to the Normandy invasion. It made ot to the post-war german Police...

My P1 isn't Nazi either so I have to scratch a very old itch soon and buy either a BYf or maybe even Spreewerk P38...

very cool...I've always wanted a Luger. I've always wanted to be able to own part of that time in history.

Thanks from Parabellus

Beeeutiful. I have a minty (brand spankin' new) BYF 43 as well. I wonder why?
There seem to be a number of minty BYF 43s out there. I got mine from a 10th Mtn Div vet.

Great looking pistols. I used to have an old 1917 Dwm that I miss dearly.

Love that 'Black Widow' Luger.
The 'Red 9' looks like an authentic Prussian Contract 9mm C96 from the First World War.
Both are items I have wanted for years for my collection.
Don't think I've ever even seen an Astra 400.
I have a P1 but it was produced before the addition of the hex pin.
The Nazi knife looks interesting too.

Congrats on a fine batch of vintage weapons.
