I have a P1 but it was produced before the addition of the hex pin.
The Nazi knife looks interesting too.

Congrats on a fine batch of vintage weapons.
Thanks Parabellus,

Being an A block 135/135 41 byf...the production date of the P08 is estimated to be mid December of 1941. I bought it out of a friend's collection so I don't personally know it's complete story. The holster and mag is dated to the weapon. I have since bought a bakelite bottomed spare mag that is also date and production stamped correct to the piece.

The C96 is indeed a relatively early Imperial contract example of a "Red Nine" but for some unknown reason...it doesn't have an Imeprial Army acceptance stamp. This stumped a number of experts until one recognized German police stamping on the front of the grip. Those reportedly indicate it was apparently issued directly to a national police unit. I have documentation showing the name of the GI and address that brought the old Broomhandle and it's stock home in Sept of 1945.

The Astra 400 was a gun show find of my late father. For many years it was his "truck gun" since he originally only paid about $65 for it. It was truly a piece of luck on my part as it is in really fine shape.

The P1 was just bought because I liked it for the price at the time. I always loved the Walther P38/P1 series. They just feel right to me.

The Hitler Youth knife was a WW II "bring back" given to me many years ago by a late uncle that served as a Sherman tank gunner from Normandy to Western Germany before the Nazi surrender.

I consider myself very fortunate to possess such fine examples of what are some really unique and desirable collector pieces.

Thanks from Parabellus

Great pics and congrats on owning a few on the classics. I have my heart set on owning representative firearms and the P08 and C96 are some of the best.

!936 P 08s have particularly good finishes.

I recall in the 60s that the bakelite gripped, fxo magged 41 and 42s were considered unattractive "last ditch" pieces by hardened old collectors.
Back then, the oldsters even turned up their noses at unit marks and Weimar reissues.
Obstensively, R Shattuck coined the phrase "Black Widow" as a selling point.
Today they are sought after.
I saw a 99% go for $2500 at a show. Young guy convinced his wife it was a good thing to put on their credit card....

Great Pictures... I have a P-38 in about the same condition as that shown by the OP, mine was a war trophy, manufactured in 1943. It was given to my Dad by a local deputy sheriff back in the 58/59 time frame.

I kinda liked stocked pistols. Here are some of mine - Couple of Broomhandles & a Browning Hi Power in the stocks and an Artillery Luger/accessories. Also a few of my P.38s - which I Really like! And last but not least is an Astra 300, the little brother to the 600 & 400s.

Just a question: why do you call them Nazis? They are only pieces of fine craftsmenship. They have nothing to do with political connotations.

Wow, thanks to the OP and Sarge 13 for posting those pics. They are truly beautifully made pistols. German design and craftsmanship are obvious.

Because those two, my last two handgun acquisitions, are my first two from the era of the Third Reich. I have little doubt they both saw service in the hands of German soldiers.
I have had three other Lugers, two from WWI and a Weimar Police Luger which was my first.

Here they are again among the other Mausers from before, during, and after WWI as well as a Post WWII HSc.

Here again with my entire collection of Germans (to include some French and American made PP series Walther designs.

I consider these all to be examples of a rich tradition in German design and craftsmanship from the century old Mauser 1910 Sidelatch to the two Walther P99s upon which I depend for home and self defense.

Nice Youth knife. I found one at a flea market in excellent condition w/o a sheath and listed it on ebay as a BIN. Ebay sent me a message that they were removing my auction due to the picture of the diamond shaped insert being shown in the listing pic. I was also given a warning for listing the knife.

Before they could take it down, someone bought it so I shipped it and paid no final value fee. Take that, ebay, you PC sissies. ;-)
