| MK23 Case
I wish I could own a MK23 where I live.
Please excuse the thread jack.
I got this case at a show long time ago thinking it was a fake. Than after some research, I read that it just might be a real case for non-US mk23s.
Does anyone know if this is a fake HK case, and/or if it's worth anything?

So...uh...nice gun. I'm jealous. I think the Mk23 might actually be the first handgun that I buy.

Nice pistol!
I'm going to concoct something similar in a different make/model but I love the "offensive pistol" concept.

I love this thing! if you ever see one and have the funds to get one DO NOT HESITATE TO GET IT!!!! During the winter time when I build up more funds I will probably buy another MK23 just cause... there's nothing wrong with double fisting MK23 goodness... is there? |

So you own the three guns that I want the most. An M14(or three), PTR91(although I want the G.I. model) and a Mk23. I think it's a sign.
What else do you own? My list of what to buy includes:
-Mk 14 EBR Mod 0 type SEI
-LRB M14 Sage EBR Solid Stock 18" barrel
-LRB M14 EBR-RI Mod 0
-H&K Mk 23
-H&K USP Compact 9mm
-Walther P99 9mm
-IMI Jericho 941 9mm
-PTR91 G.I.
-SIG Sauer P229 9mm
I might get a few more M14 variants in the future. Like a SOCOM and another full length M14...maybe even an M21 like yours.

Right now I own just 3 of these beauties. I've been into firearms for a couple of months now... November will be my first whole year of owning firearms. I was considering building a collection, but held back and decided to learn some of the fundamentals of using and shooting firearms from pistols to rifles and use the $funds$ on ammo... but in time... I think a collection will build up some how
Plans in the near future:
Suppressing all three of'em.
SBRing the CA94/HK94clone, and maybe in 5 years time I could get some full-auto goodness out of it.
I'm thinking of getting a bolt action .338 or .50 bmg next year for longer range shooting...
Out of your list... Try and get the HK MK23 first on the list! If you don't like it... just think.. it will never lose value and you could probably get your money back and then some... that's just my $0.02
An M14 would be nice too... but they are everywhere and you could build a beautiful one from scratch. It's a hit and miss with the value and I won't go there... but this is one way to reach out and touch with style!
The CA94/HK94 clone I got is just for plinkering and experimenting... I won't trust my life with it (which I trust with my M1A & MK23). It's something to shoot the hell out of and throw around in the dirt.... and it shoots cheap 9mm.
Cheers! |

Oh, so that's the 9mm...I thought it was the .308. Check out PTR91.com. They make .308 versions including a G3A3 semi-auto. That's what I want.
Don't worry, the Mk23 is first on my list. I just want to find a NIB one(and have the money, which probably won't be for a bit). If I number my list it goes like this:
1. H&K Mk23
2. LRB M14 Sage Solid Stock(This will be a mash of Crazy Horse and USGI parts on an LRB receiver + bolt)
3. Walther P99(nice, cheap 9mm to plink with)
4. PTR91 PTR G.I.
5. Mk 14 Mod 0 type SEI(This I plan to have SEI make for me)
6. LRB M14EBR-RI
7. SIG Sauer P229
8. Magnum Research Baby Eagle II
9. H&K USP Compact
I'm still thinking about getting an FAL, but I'm not too sure about it. I might add an M1 Garand and M1 Carbine far in the future when I've learned a lot more. Possibly a 1911 variant(Operator/Government model)...MAYBE some kind of AR platform like a KAC SR-25(BIG bucks) or HK 417...probably the SR-25 if anything.

One step at a time my friend... don't be like me and end up eating ramen noodles for 2 weeks cause of a compulsive buy ... you have a lifetime to buy the firearm(s) you want and then a lifetime of learning how to use it/them proficiently. You gotta have fun doing this. Good luck and enjoy!... but get the HK MK23 first Quote:

Probably wondering, WTF?
This MK23 working 100 yards... 3 hits on the bottom right and 1 hit on the top left... 4 reasonable hits out of 10 shots at 100 yards... I was aiming for the top plate while standing and firing. I so love this gun... |

I have a HK USP 40S&W. I love it and would also love to have a 23. I have a few M14 type rifles and plan on a HK 23 oneday. Nice collection. Looks like you could be a seal team member with that setup.

Seal team... no way... I don't have the proven heart and mindset of those hardcore warriors. I do like their awesome gear though!!!
I love the M1A... a lot!!! I love the MK23 a lot as well... The HK94 clone is an ongoing, life long project... SBR, suppressed, maybe someday full-auto... some time and money... and I have a lot of time not a lot of money
Cheers!

| *Record keeping* 3100 rounds through it
about 3100 rounds (known as I'm the the 2nd owner, and still counting) and not one failure of any kind, and for poops and giggles I even shot 300 rounds of Tula ammo steel cases through it without any failures as well.... God I love this gun. I'm still far from hitting that 30,000 mark of putting that many rounds through it, but I will post the first malfunction if and when it ever happens.
Could never have to much protection, right? |
