gus rules! gun show fixing

was at the Hampton gun show this weekend (18-19mar) and had a chance to spend time with gus, learning, telling lies and swapping jokes.
it was great!
gus was handed work - gus donned the magnifier and went into "full mode fix-it!"

You can usually find him at the Hampton or Richmond (if there is one) show fairly regularly. Always like chatting with Gus when he has a spare chance.

Looks like he has another 100 years left in him. It would take that long for all the knowledge he has to be imparted to us.

Glad he's still out and about. Miss his input here, but still enjoy reading his posts.

I usually just walk by and wave and nod my head. Seems he's usually got 4 to 5 people at the table either buying parts, or having a rifle worked on, or just talking.

Amazing how wrong "pictures of somebody in the mind" can be. Did anyone up there ever ask Gus if he's coming back here? I don't know him like many of you guys, but I pour over his posts along with those of many other Members here and have learned lots. Man, have I learned. Always wonder why he hasn't graced these pages in so long.

I will hazard a guess that he wanted too do the things that he wanted too do, without being tied too a computer, trying too smarten us up.... This is just a guess on my part mind you.

I still go back and reread his posts once in a while, some of them I've read a half dozen times, they're that good.
Besides being a thoroughly knowledgeable M14 ACE he's got a very good way with words .
I'd like to buy his drinks and just listen .

Thanks from mic52
