Question Recommendation for M14 smiths?

I have pulled together a very nice M14 platform. I'm looking for a solid and CONSISTANT smith to give it some NM treatments (trigger job, bed stock...). Input would be greatly appreciated.

Thumbs up Look no further than this forum!

There are a couple on this site. They have very solid Resumes and know the M 14 platform better than Most.
Ted Brown : www.TedBrownRifles.com and Tim at warbirds custom guns: warbirdscustomguns.com

I will have one of them build my TFL rifles when the receivers are finished.

Hope that helps. Hope I have not violated any ROE's.

Thumbs up Here's another;

My NM rifle was built by Derrick Martin, at Accuracy Speaks, INC. http://accuracyspeaks.com/public_html/index.html
I am very happy with my rifle. The fit and finish are absolutely incredible!

Just another recommendation, in addition to the two you have already received.

If you are near Texas both Ted Brown and Warbird would be my choice. Art Luppino

Let George Do It

George Gardner of G. A. Precision has a wealth of experience with such builds. In the not-too-distance past,George built dozens of custom rifles, using actual M-14s, under contract for a government agency. I had the chance to fondle one of the rifles attached to that contract and it was a very impressive work of art. George built a rifle for me using a LRB receiver and an all Winchester USGI kit. My barrel didn't mate with the bolt to George's standards,so he dug through the Winny barrels he had, found one that appeared to be unissued, swapped it for mine and included it in his build. George goes the extra mile to satisfy his customers;and,he'll build my future projects too. I'm a happy customer. Good luck with any build-projects.

Recomendation?

Has anyone had Keith Morris of ALL AMERICAN ARMORY build a M14 M1a? He is located in Middletown NY and apparently recommended by LRB.

I'll throw in a recommendation for Isaac McCaskill of Cassatt Gun Works. Top notch work and a great guy.

The only drawback is that he's got quite a backlog right now. He's building me a NM M1 Garand and it won't be ready until after Perry this year.

call the above smiths and see what one you "click" with - see how easy they are to get on the phone and spend time with you answering all your quesitons...

My bet is Ted will be your choice

+1 for Staff Sergeant Isaac McCaskill USMC (Ret.)of:

Cassatt Gun Works
1979 Lake Elliott Road
Cassatt, SC 29032
803-713-8762

He worked in the USMC armory at Quantico, VA for years and built match M-14s for the Corps' rifle teams, among other things. He built my full match rifle on a LRB receiver that shoots about .5 MOA. I placed my order just before Thanksgiving 2005 and drove down from the People's Republic of Massachusetts to pick it up the first weekend in April 2006. He is an extremly competant gunsmith and in your neck of the woods.
