But with no castle nut finger in the way, It (the set screw) can now be screwed in so the muzzle device can go all the way on.

That's the proper dog screw. The smooth part on the tip needs to fit into a castle nut recess. The castle nut does not need to be super tight. Back it off to the next recess if needed.

The Dog screw would not screw in far enough to sit flush. Also the Dog screw does not sit flush in the original Chinese flash hider

Without the castle nut in, like you showed in your picture, the set screw should be able to thread all the way through without stopping. Can you check and see if there is an obstruction stopping this?

Check the threads inside the muzzle device. If the set screw doesn't screw all the way in the threads may be screwed up and need to be chased.

muzzle nut

Probably bent, deformed the the last thread on the set screw tightening the can up, get a metric die matching the threads of the screw, and run it through to clean it up. it has to be able to go below flush. 1000m

Thanks from Mcflury

If that is as far as it will go in, you need to find a tap and clean up the threads so the screw can go all the way through.

{And don't break the tap which chasing the threads, you really will not like that outcome.

Thanks from Mcflury
