Also you need to pull that reamer out and clean chamber and reamer of all the shavings.

If you don't, it can cut rings into the shoulder of the chamber...

Don't ask how I know that.....

Thanks for the help. Got head spacing done. About 1 thou over GO. The bolt now just closes on GGG Nato.

I figured out why the reamer looked so long in my post #14 pictures. The reamer pilot was just too snug for the bore and did not go in all the way during my initial testing.

I turned the pilot down so the reamer would enter the chamber w/o force.

Question: I tried to chamber a resized 308 case. The bolt almost closes, half way thru rotating into full battery. The same with GGG Nato ammo.

My PTG pull thru reamer on the other hand is way long, bolt is some 10 thou from staring to rotate.

Is the reamer off? Hitting the lands?

I would like a tight chamber? Get a match reamer?

Recommendations?

I don't blame you. No worries though. I'm an experienced hillbilly machinist and a quick learner.

The tight pilot threw me off.

I test fired the rifle this morning. Good results. Will post some pics.
