anyone know someone who makes custom buttstocks?

My father in law used to make custom furniture decades ago. He gave me a piece of burled black walnut that is UNREAL. It's probably about 50 years old, it's enough for a full gun stock. I want to have a new buttstock and fore end made for my Beretta Silver Pigeon V field gun.
Please email me: tokiwartooth@optonline.net if you know anyone who will do this.

Thanks from Dougboffl and Rich D

Must have been sitting in his closet for 30 years. He was a master craftsman, still has a shop out back of his house in upstate NY. If I gave him a stock, he could easily produce a copy for me, that's how good he is, but, he's too old now, his eyes are going.

do you want a custom, made to fit you and only you stock or just a stock that fits your gun made from that blank? If the former, you want a stock fitter and maker who can make you a made to order stock. But if out of the box stocks fit you ok, then send that blank along with your current stock and forend to somebody with a Dakota duplicator and have them make you a copy of your current stock. There is an outfit in PA that is using laser scans of a stock that takes something like 20 million data points o have a CNC machine carve you an exact duplicate but they are not commercial yet for stock duplicating. They are making out of production stocks for old Mausers and the such

Boyd's stocks can probably make one for you out of your walnut blank.
I think I talked to them about doing one for me a few years back out of a blank I supplied.
Worth a shot anyway.

It's a common stock, and really just the "stock" stock. Nothing custom, but I do need the for end done too (or do I?).
I have quotes of $2600 - $3600, that's just INSANE, not gonna happen at those numbers and more than I paid for the shotgun. I thought it would be $600 - $900, and I was thinking even that was HIGH. It's a pretty simple design, outside of the checkering.

I cannot think of anybody who charges $2600-3600 to duplicate a stock using your blank. That is usually the price for custom fitting and a nice blank of wood. I ain't fer sure but your blank looks like it might be a little on the small side.

here is my first blank

and the finished product

as you see, my blank had a lot more meat on it that yours.

Here is my second custom stock

first the blank

and the finished product

Consult the Google Machine for shotgun stock duplicating. the interwebs is full of places that do that. Macon gun stocks starts at $75 to duplicate. That should be for a semi-inleted stock. It is the inletting that costs.
