Op-rods can bend if you're running really hot loads. Have you run a lot of M118LR or 180 grain loads out of it?

Tony.
It's never had anything but 147-155 stuff through it other than one box of Winchester soft tip hunting ammo, . . . best as my poor old memory will go. I got them just to try something besides FMJ, . . . in case I wanted to take it deer hunting up in Wisconsin or Michigan. 20 rounds at the most of them is all it has ever seen.

Is it a real trick to straighten it once it is bent? I have access to a large hydraulic press and stuff, . . . thinking it should not be too tricky if a bullet can bend it, . . .

But I'd like someone to chime in that knows more than I do on this.

May God bless,
Dwight

I contacted Springfield, . . . they want me to send them my rifle, . . . tole me it would take 4 to 6 weeks, . . . considering it is Holiday season, . . . I'm thinking it won't be back till Feb. or later.

I'll take the op rod to an anvil with a hammer before I'll give up my gun for that long, . . . especially since I was dismantling and re-assembling M14's since before probably 90% of the Springfield work force could even spell M14.

All I want is an op rod, . . . I told em I'd send the old one, . . . they could replace it.

Sorry for the rant, . . . but that garbage gets my goat right real good and bad.

May God bless,
Dwight

2 is the bare minimum.
3 is better than 2
4 is certainly better than 3

Now Art has taken it to the platoon replacement level.
