If your a small Illlinois FFL dealer or FOID card holder you better read this Bill and call your legislators and tell them to oppose it when it comes to vote in thr house.

And it looks like Springfield Armory and Rock River are stabbing us in the back ,read about it and Look up SB-1657

As a former Illinois resident, born and raised in the Edwardsville area, I continue to follow the happenings there. The state has always been goofy to me, Cook County and Springfield have no idea about rest of the state. They continue to do whatever they want and make the rest of the state pay for it.

Anyways, SAI and RRA are now dead to me. Here's the non-statement from SAI.
Springfield Armory CEO Dennis Reese gave TTAG the following statement:

“The legislative process is a fluid process. The bill has only moved through one chamber, and it is still in the process. We fully support the Second Amendment and stand by it. The Illinois Manufacturers Association will continue to fight and protect not only manufacturers, but dealers and the gun owner as well.”

Did they think their involvement would fly under the radar?

SAI and RRA sold out to the Illinois government.
No deal with the "devil" comes to any good nor ends well.

The 1911 I was looking to buy will not come from SAI.

Thanks for sharing forceman.

It is convenient for them that they will be exempt from any of these regulations. They will close every small FFL dealer in Illinois including mine . I will no longer support or carry any SAI or RRA products.

I already wrote SAI and RRA to let them know that their actions in Illinois will have an adverse effect of their profits from Texas, from me anyways.

Thanks from forceman

Yeah, sure it will. In the meantime.....

My Loaded M1A and XDS were both purchased from a small gun store. The kind SAI sold out. Until they make this right, I'll never buy another SAI product.

I also love SAI's non-answer in defending their actions here..

It's too bad, I like both SAI and RR's products.

They are doing what they have to as businesses. I would rather that they took a stand but it is what it is.

I wish the folks in Illinois good luck with this one----Seems like a ChickenSh.....t move on the part of SAI and Rock River. Even though I am not from Illinois, I may have already purchased my last SAI product----I am surprised they would sell out their customers like thgat, but hey, Business is Business-----Maybe they are hoping customers in other states wont notice what they are doing in Illinois.

Hopefully I am misreading all of this.

One more thing----I seem to remember Smith and Wesson doing something similar around the Brady Bill time----Not sure it did their business much good---It took me 20 years before I bought another S&W product.

Was that Bloomberg group involved with this ? They seem to be very active in state level gun legislation.
