Visa credit card company is anti-firearms?

This was just on Fox News Channel:

VISA, as in the credit card, has told the USA's 'largest independent gun store,' the Hyatt Gun Shop, that they will no longer do business with them because they sell guns.

And there I was about to buy myself an M&P handgun for my birthday, using my VISA card! Fortunately there are other companies....

lol
I'm guessing someone at VISA (the big stupid corp that it is) screwed up big time, their going to have a lot of splainin' to do.
VISA issues the NRA credit card.
Faux News should hire more fact checkers.

Thanks from hammer 1 and Pants

I don't follow the statement about fact checkers, unless you're saying the story is incorrect. Visa will own them if it is, so I imagine they were careful to get it right.

I'm saying I don't think we got the WHOLE story. SOP for Faux, not that this make them unique in the LSM.

I might have to take my Cabela's issued Visa card out of my wallet for fear that it will implode from the news.

It was a subsidiary of visa that did it.

Trial balloon, red flag, unauthorised action, whatever it is, my boycott of Visa is underway up here in Canada. Just because they support general sporting goods stores doesn't say anything about their firearms policy.

Huh. Well, I dunno. Two weeks ago I bought an FN P-35 from Hyatt using my VISA card. Hell, all my on line gun/ammo/gear purchases are with my VISA card.

Probably more "Pro-public opinion" than "anti-firearm".

Remember...they will do whatever it takes to get the majority of paying
customers.

My take on this is that these subsidiaries that have some motivation (whackadoodle board of directors, etc) won't make a decision like this unless they determine that less than a certain percentage of their sales are done with this. After all they make a pretty good vig off of the merchant on each sale.

Most of the VISA subsidiaries have probably greatly increased their bottom line when things in the firearms industry went nuts(again) from both merchant fees and unholy interest(lending institutions).
