In his speech, Obama mentioned gay marriage but not guns. I wonder if we could trade a Yes vote on gay marriage for nationwide concealed carry and a promise of no AWB , mag limit or registration.

Funny you mention this. In NY the new firearms laws were voted on behind closed doors and passed in one night just like the vote on same sex marriages was. NY constitution says there is a three day waiting or cooling off period unless it is an emergency. Guess both laws needed to pass so bad they had to close the doors to the public and were so urgent that the lawmakers forgot to bring a copy of the NY constitution with them the nights of both votes.

I would be happier if the State got OUT of marriage period. They have no business in my personal relationships.

But no I would not trade anything for something I already have.

I'd thank that twenty times if I could. It's none of the governments business who I'm marrying or who is banging whom. Every single person should be weighed and held accountable for their own actions.

I would still say no. The gay issue isn't about rights any longer so don't kid yourself.

Awards Showcase

Promises require trust. Does anyone trust the gun grabbers to lay off under any circumstances? These people can't be bargained with.

people should be able to do what ever they want as long as their not hurting anyone, yeah i think its kind of weird and a little gross but who am i to tell anyone they cant do something because i dont like it. that goes for alot of things. I should have the right to own any firearm my heart desires and any mag I want as long as I dont hurt anyone with it (except for self defense purposes) of course and no one should be able to tell me i cant because they dont like it. if only the world was that simple

Thanks from osokusmc and Fix Bayonets

I wish they had stayed out of divorces! Getting married is easy.

We can definately use the arguement to our advantage. Ask your opponent why he believes in gay marriage and he will invariably say something along the lines of allowing people to live as they choose without interferance of society at large. Agree with said statement that the Liberty to live life as you choose is both a natural and sacred right as a human being, and to deny that right is oppression. And then simply ask them to extend you the same courteousy. If they continue to push the "I dont think we need them" line, point out that the act of enforcing their beliefs on you is the exact same as the ones they so vehemenantly oppose in others.

Take my wife, please...

Oh sorry thought this was a different thread.

I agree with Hgunner, no trading anything for your God given rights. We're beginning the slide down a very slippery slope here in NY and it disgusts me.

It would only be a temporary trade and then he would go back at it. We need to remove the compromise or bipartisan from our vocabulary. We should not compromise or morals and values. Politics is just putting your morals and values to action.

We shouldn't compromise our morals and values.

On a lighter note, the real question is, would you take it from behind to keep your M1A?
