These calls for bans and confiscation are really bad. Only question I have is how big a club they will use and how hard they will beat on us? We need to be thinking about protecting the 2nd ammendment and all our rights under our Constitution. I can see a argument being made for not making us second class citizens. Why am I being classed lower that military or LEO's. I should have the same rights as them to possess and use my firearms. I am a good citizen. I pay taxes, vote, and obey the laws of our country. I have a right to expect equal protection under those laws. We need to get our pro 2nd ammendment legal eagles working on this asap. While the is flying, we need to be working to protect our rights, When things settle down abit and the politicians start to construct the club, we must be ready to defend our right with logic and law. Confiscation, outright bans and registration must be resisted.

Don't forget, they're goong after personal ownership of military and LEOs too.

Let's just all get together and take over Western Canada and form a new country. Only take about 25 people.

Eric , I agree with you .. Im worried about where whis will end.. I want to believe that the radical anti gun idiots are throwing these "buybacks" and " confisication" talk so they can land in the middle somewhere with a ban on semi-auto weapons. I disagree with any talk of changing gun laws PERIOD. I thought (though I live in IL) that we were already moving the wrong way on guns and now this.. 10 days ago the court ORDERS (yea it takes the fed to order my backward state) IL to insitiute a CCW permit program in 180 days and now were here?? we share the same fears and the lawyers should be ready to defend us against this before it gets too out of hand.. Do they have enough votes in the house to pull this off? I know the Senate does but the House might be a harder fight than Feinstien and her commie friends think....Anyway Im concerned about this one.. Never let a crisis go to waste right, frigin' vultures

The Senate will be hard fight for the Dimcrats too. In the next Senate session the Dims will have 55 seats, but they will need 60 votes in order to break a filibuster and pass a bill. If everybody does their job nothing will get out of congress, but I wouldn't put it past the White House to start writing Executive Orders to circumvent Congress.

I think western canada is a good choice but If u promised to let us wage war on Quebec as soon as we had the country thing sorted I bet u could keep the 6er of molsen! On a serious note tho Canadians own more guns per person than Americans and we are famous as one of the fastest mobilizing countries during war so I would rethink the 25 people invasion force!

P.S.
You will need actual winter kit!!!

The point of my post is to ensure that pro gun legal people are really working on preventing a ban and confiscation. This will get really bad and we will need to insure we have the best legal arguments to defend our rights. Bold talk and hope for the best are not going to cut it. Constitutional arguments and tough legal defence are all that will work in the congress and in the courts. I pray we have the people to make these arguments.

The Canadians I know, all from Western Canada, would like to change the border from the 49th parallel (East and West) to something running North/South, roughly along the Mississippi River then to Hudson Bay. The Western half of N. America would be one country and the Eastern half another. NE Libs would get the French in Quebec...BC, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and the Western US would be another. Don't know what to do with California.

It is inconceivable that the citizen disarmament crowd will not exploit the blood of these children.

Who will speak the truth in love in a mature, calm voice and bring the focus back to personal responsibility....the Republicans....the NRA?

No, we have no advocate, we are on our own.

It would be wise for each of us to sort out any issues we may have in this area.

The Republicans are running scared....they got bitch slapped in the election, they are getting slapped in the fiscal cliff debate.....I wouldn't count on them saving us. They smell what many hear apparently don't....the majority is bailing on gun rights.

I'm not convinced they have a real chance at getting anywhere near what they want through Congress. I'm worried about it for sure (and I bought a few things I would have otherwise waited on just in case) but I keep reminding myself that what we are hearing on TV is largely the leftish viewpoint, as always.

The longer this drags on, the more people's emotions will calm down a bit. Laws passed in the heat of a fresh crisis tend to stink pretty bad after some time goes by.
