“Open and conceal and carry are among the reasons there are 12,000 gun homicides each year in the U.S.
| I would like to see some facts to back up this assertion that legal open & concealed carry result in more homicides.
One thing that continues to confuse me is the notion that businesses open to the public can "ban" firearms without posting signs at every entrance. How the heck am I supposed to know? BB&T bank branches have a clear prohibition at each entrance. Fine! I don't and won't bank there.
But I was refused entrance to a college football game for having a clip-on pocket knife with a 2-1/2" blade. "It's a weapon and all weapons are prohibited!" Really? Says who? I could not get an answer from any staff or on the university's website. There's no sign anywhere. And come on - do they really think that less than half of the men at a football game have a pocket knife of some sort on them?
If you live in or near Richmond, Virginia, be aware that concealed carry is prohibited on the VCU campus (different university). There are two problems with that. First, it's an urban campus all mixed in with other buildings. How do you know when you're "on campus"? Second, I would prefer to be armed in the general vicinity of VCU. It's not exactly in the best part of town.
Back to Starbucks: I always order a latte with regular milk. Almost as much fun as ordering black coffee and it tastes much better. Their regular coffee really does suck.
