Why not, being the narcissist he is, he already thinks he can do what he wants, without reprecussions. Given that he gets another term, he will really go wild. dozier

This is bull he knows that if he would do that the whole country would revolt and there would be a big target on his head. If he did take our guns away the only thing you will see is people hiding them for later and half the population screaming for his head on a stake so dont even worry about it he wont ge reelected. Only a complet idiot would vote for him again.

unfortunately theres enough people in this country that ARE complete idiots that will make this election a nail biter. look at the roughly half of the people who pay no taxes and the half that get some kind of .gov assistance. not the same half, but i would posit there is a SIGNIFICANT overlap between the 2 groups.
regarding NRA dude ... hes just doing his job to rile up the faithful. probably preaching to the choir, but thats what hes paid to do. i think most gun owners have been lulled into a false sense of security since the dems know that major anti gun legislation is a non starter and there hasnt been anything particularly nasty get very far in congress lately. individual states is another issue of course. i do believe the antis are dreaming up ways to back door severe gun restrictions and his basic point of 1 or 2 more commie supreme court appointees could see maybe not cases overturned but new cases not go our way. Up to now, the seizing of outsized power by every President since Roosevelt has been frustrating and annoying, though alarmingly tolerated by Congress and the Court. After all, the Republic WILL prevail.
This President, however, is very dangerous and VERY smart. He knows what he is doing and needs to be exposed to America, BEFORE the election, for what he is and wants to be – der Fuehrer. For his purpose, reforming Congress in 2012 is like the Enabling Act of 1933 when the Reichstag granted the Chancellor plenary powers to rule … and (of course) to do the right thing. The Reichstag was subsequently eliminated and the rest is history.
Those who took an oath to “defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic” need to answer the call now and work to make this President a one termer.
The NRA isn't perfect, but they may be the best we have right now.

This is the reason why I am starting to invest in blades. When it comes time to defend my family it will be up close and personal.

Since we are speculating, here's a question for ya. If it came to a point where guns were deemed illegal, who of you would freely turn them in? As "law abiding citizens" you would have to right? If you were given 90 days to surrender all firearms, after which legalized home searches would be conducted...would you do as told?
A sticky situation indeed. I personally feel we are pretty far away from such a law being enacted, but I do not think that something like this is impossible.

I think that what we, as gun owners, should do is buy up as many "assult" weapons and accessories as possible right now!
Not for the reason that you're probably thinking. Last election, the firearms industry (mostly dealers, but a lot of manufacturers too) put it to their patrons with inflated prices. This all based on scare tactics that the "evil, liberal 'left'" was going to take all of our guns away. The American public, acting like the sheep that most of them are, bought into all of the hype and here-say and paid ridiculous prices because they thought that they wouldn't be able to buy guns anymore. Did this happen? Of course not! What did happen is that a bunch of rich people got richer because of a bunch of self generated propaganda from the very industry we look to to provide these implements of joy that we love so much.
Make no mistake. If the firearms industry was so worried about all of us being armed then they'd give us guns for free. If not for free then at least at cost. But they are a business, just like the companies whom make cars, kitchen sinks, toilet plungers, shoe laces, and any other consumer product that we use. They are there for a profit. If they weren't, they wouldn't exist. They aren't necessarily your friend, they just provide a product you enjoy. And they're going to do whatever they must to sell you their product and make a profit. For them it's much easier at times because so many people will believe anything the NRA tells them. And who is the main money supplier of the NRA?? Manufacturers!! Starting to get the picture here??
Bottom line is this: firearms are a multi-billion dollar industry. It would be political and economical suicide to do away with them. They're here to stay. Obama will be re-elected because there are too many clowns running against him for him to be beaten. And in four more years, we'll still have guns. What the smart folks need to do is buy up a bunch at today's prices and sell them to the doomsday believers a year from now at a hearty profit. Because fortunately we're always going to have guns, and unfortunately, we're always going to have sheep.

The sad fact is that most men can tell you about their favorite sports team while not even being able to correctly identify the key players in the coming election. Women tend to vote with emotions and feel good sentiment.
Let it be our job to start with relatives and friends.
Instead of no child left behind, we'll have no relative left behind.
Go out and spread the word!
