The ATF is about as worthless as can be, IMHO. we should ban THEM.

The ATF is proof positive that once Big Government creates something, whether good, bad, or indifferent, it is here to stay and suckle at the teat of the American taxpayer. If we can't get rid of the ATF after decades of high profile screw ups, many costing people their lives, we have no chance of repealing anything.

The original intent of this logical augmentation of gun walker is pretty clear. Since the assertion that "cartel" weapons came from legitimate US dealers was patently false, TPTB decided to clandestinely make it so. The lies and deceit go all the way up to, and including the AG (most likely higher). Had it not been for BATFE whistle blowers, the story would have never made it to the MSM, who continue to shelter their darling obama. The agents trying to do the honorable thing got slapped, Holder lied to congress and the principals skated, so why not stick with the program?

Yeah, there is a saying:
Every action has an equal and opposite government program.
