| Thanks DoD for infringing upon our firearms rights
A part of our annual "anti-terrorism" training. LOL, these are our "options" in an active shooter situation on post an part of our online training-
----One of your friends notes that there may be no warning before the start of an active shooter situation. And, you might be caught with no chance to evacuate, barricade yourself in a room, or attack the perpetrator. You know you should dive for cover immediately. And you also know that in the event of an attack with firearms you should crouch on the floor. But what should you do in the event of an attack with grenades? Dive for cover and run for exit at the first possible opportunity.
Dive behind something solid and lie flat on the floor.
Dive behind something solid and crouch on the floor.
Select the correct response.
Im so glad when we are on post (i.e. kill zones) that we have so many options at our desposal. In case of a shooting, "would you like to die now, or later?"
The reason why i posted this is because i was reminded how ABSURD it is that we as soldiers are not allowed to carry on post. Just plain rediculous and unamerican.

To say the least, a solder without a weapon, that's nonsense.
Wonder if they'll b!tch if you wear a vest and a pot?

I don't envy your assignment. If grenade-tossing terrorists actually made it onto the base nobody would know it until the first one went off.

these are our everyday garrison options! if some A-hole wants to come on post and start blasting away, nothing is stopping him. if that person was well trained, they could do insurmountable damage before anyone could render them incapacitated. its scary to think about.
the freak muslim officer that shot up our guys at ft hood- we're lucky he was a rear-echlon POG. the only reason why he got as many as he did was how close they were and how many there were (the SRP site). Imagine if a well trained, crazy guy wanted to really do some damage. whos going to stop em? The cops? theres no real deterrent in place. thats the beauty of CHL. It helps prevent this kind of catastrophe. No magic line of "cant carry here" is going to stop violence from a well determined attacker, and the gate security cant search all the vehicles. even there, theres 1000's of ways on post other than the front gate. I could show you a dozen ways to get on ft benning from the back 40.
It sucks because off post and in uniform I ALWAYS carry. we are a target these days. I feel pretty safe that way. its ON POST that i worry sometimes.
these laws and regulations arent helping anyone and i wish they would change them.

Buy throwing knives (SOG or Cold Steel) and learn how to use them . The SOG is my normal carry when I can't carry my sidearm and with practice I can stick a 4" post @ 25'. The Cold Steel is a dart and will pierce a punkin' @ 25'.

these laws and regulations arent helping anyone and i wish they would change them. | My memory is hazy on the incident, but I believe it was Ft. Campbell a few years ago where some soldier managed to get hold of a M249 and some ammo and started blasting formations as they were conducting PT in the morning. I don't remember what the death toll was, but the principle of not being able to defend yourself on base still stands out. I always hated not being able to carry on base....

Well the folks who come up with these rules know best. Keep that in mind. They have years of helpful experiences appeasing dipsh!t liberals, so don't second guess them. PC is why I got out. I sure am sorry to hear about your plight my friend.

If you think it's bad on an army post it's much worse on an Air Force base. I'm not responsible enough to have my personal firearms stored in my living quarters or vehicle but at work I'm responsible enough to run an armory full of M240's, M249's, M4's, M9's, M107's, M19's, etc... not to mention patrol base with an M4 in the passenger street with 120 rounds and an M9 on my leg with one in the pipe on fire... silly me, I'm just a dumb Senior Airman for trying to make sense of things.

This is just one more reason I preferred living off-post.

I just shake my head that the folks who really should be living the RKBA credo can't do so in their own living quarters.

Not to mention the fact that NFA firearms aren't allowed on base either. Honestly, I'm next on the list to get off base but it's a bit of a moot point considering I'm about to PCS to Guam and most likely going back to the billeting anyway once I get there...lol
(Time to get off the soapbox now...lol)

Alaska you can own nearly anything (relatively) once you do the paperwork. As for NFA weapons on Guam, I'm still researching the subject. I know within getting there I have to get a Guam issued Firearm owners card, similar to my home state of Illinois, and have 3 day's to register my firearms. Guam gun laws |
