BTW, careful with the old Egyptian 9mm machine gun ammo...................I blew out an UZI barrel years ago after a squib load. It was cheap, but I never trusted it after that. Keep up the good work!

I started with a stock Stemple 76/45. Here is a picture (not mine) but mine was similar-
The Stemple was made / marketed between two people. Jim Burgess and John Stemple. When the 1986 machine gun ban hit I think Stemple registered a LOT of tubes. These were simply registered with the BATFE to build guns on. The guns were made between these two guys. Something happened along the way and Stemple was trying to get some tubes back from Burgress (legal separation / problems). I am not sure who got what after that but there are a variety of 76/45 guns floating around.
The gun is VERY basic and some do not work out of the box. Its a full auto only (no selector) open bolt gun. The bolt is a soft piece of steel. It deforms easily and will not last long if used. The gun (some) used a slightly modifind grease gun magazine. Others or later guns used UN-modified GG mags. The "mod" was a straight cut on the rear of the magazine for the magazine catch. The mag release was a simple hex head bolt (cheesy). The factory stock was pretty bad and did not lock up at all. The ejector was a bent piece of metal attached by a tapped hole in the mag well (crude). The barrel would get peened from the bolt hitting it and could rotate (no indexing or retainer).
Mine ran OK out of the box but I had plans..... I wanted the registered tube to build something better on. It took me a while but I made a list of things that needed fixed and things I wanted. What you see is wrapping that list.
I will play with a .22 conversion I want to try but right now I have a select fire sub machine gun in 9mm + .45 that I can run with normal barrels or suppressed with my extra barrels.
I had an original Powder Springs MAC-10 and a select fire model B UZI that I let go a while back. I always liked the S&W 76 design (that the Stemple 76/45 was patterned after). I never found a S&W 76 reasonably priced but the Stemple was available for a lot less and better suited my plans.
I also had a bulged barrel with my UZI firing some old MP40 ammo. Mine was never 100% reliable and I never had a working 32 round magazine. The 25's worked OK but my gun liked hot ball ammo.
