Need U.S. Made L1A1 Rifle Stock and Pistol Grip

My son got back from his second tour in Iraq with the 25th ID and promptly bought two Century L1A1 Sporter (thumbhole stock) Rifles - sight unseen from an Army buddy at another base. They need some work including U.S. Made Stocks and Pistol Grips to replace the nasty thumbhole stocks. Does anyone know where I can buy U.S. Made Stocks and Pistol Grips for the L1A1 (Not FAL) - I need to keep the 922r compliance parts count up.

Thanks.

There is a forum dedicated to FALs, thats probably where you are going to get a ton of information. DSA carries nearly anything you will need, you will also find some stuff through Midway, USA. The guys on the FAL forum are great to work with as with most brand/type specific forums.

The forums at falfiles.com for all your FAL/L1A1 needs....

He should double check that he really needs L1A1 "inch pattern" furniture. A lot of the Century rifles may have been advertised as "L1A1" but in fact be metric rifles. The lower receivers can also be swapped out as a complete unit; for example an L1A1 upper receiver/bbl unit can be assembled onto a metric lower and function just fine. However the metric/inch buttstock/pistolgrip themselves are not interchangeable.

dsarms.com
gunthings.com
gunpartsguy.com

If he does in fact need inch pattern parts he may be able to find what he needs at the above links. I've not needed inch parts in a long time, but I've spent a boat load of $$ on metric parts from the above vendors.

If he cannot find US made inch pattern buttstock/pistolgrips he could always use other parts to reduce his foriegn parts count and use Brit/Aussie furniture.

Good luck!

Ironwood designs does very nice FAL stocks (inch and metric). Not the cheapest but very pretty.

Need L1A1 Stock and Pistol Grips

OK guys - in order:

they are definitely L1A1 Lowers (We bought TAPCO FAL Stocks and Pistol Grips that would not work - trigger spring housing is in the pistol grip, recoil spring tube is the wrong size etc.). British made L1A1 Stocks and pistol grips do fit.

Dsarms.com, gunthings.com, gunpartsguy.com do not have U.S made stocks and pistol grips. Even if I wanted a wood stock and pistol grips (I don't) - Ironwood is out of stock.

FALfiles will not allow me to input on their site (I was approved for access, but it still won't let me contribute - Strange).

As Century cannot/will not tell me what parts they put on to satisfy 922r (they have told me that a) they don't keep records and b) that information is proprietary and cannot be released) I need a total of 6 US made parts to make these L1A1s street legal (7 with a flash suppressor) - so I need all the parts I can get, including the stocks and pistol grips.

Now then. Does anyone have any real information?

sent you some real info via PM.. the system won't let me post it here for some reason. My info gleaned from a couple of sites nets you 6 US made inch pattern parts.
