More years ago than I care to admit my Norinco SKS went down due to parts failure and got shoved to the back of the safe. I finally found a replacement part (cost me a whole $5) and got her out to the range where I was reminded that, although a fun gun to shoot, the trigger SUCKS. There's info out there on how to improve things yourself but, I'm a little leary about fooling around with trigger groups. Is there anybody out there that does an SKS trigger job, or maybe a replacement trigger group that doesn't cost more than the rifle itself?

P.S. My rifle has been converted to detachable mags.
Excellent question. I have 6 SKS's and all the triggers suck! They say that with proper trigger pull it should be a suprise when the rifle fires. With my SKS's this is certainly the case. I pull and it creeps, and creeps, and creeps and just when I think I have reached the wrist of the stock, BANG SUPRISE!!!
Seriously, I look forward to any input. I have one beater SKS that I have no problems doing a little back yard smithing onGI1
bill does trigger work
SKS, Trigger creep reduced up to 90%+, rough feel is smoothed out, pull weight reduced to about 4.5 lbs.
did my yugo russian and chinese, they arent match triggers but a whole lot better reach him at wspringfield@adelphia.net
I had a trigger job done on my Yugo and man what a difference. That gun is really quite accurate now that you don't have to fight the trigger on each shot. I paid about $100 or so for the brand new Yugo and another $50 or so for the trigger job. Both were good deals to me.
You will enjoy your SKS lots more if it has a good trigger pull. They are surprisingly accurate.
