1918 Hembrug Carbine

This is another save from the junk pile, a poor old mix master. But I didn't have one and I thought it was interesting. A little elbow grease, and it's still fun to look at. Maybe you folks would like to look at this old Dutch rifle too? I figure some of the old school collectors have like issue ones tucked away.
If you shoot them, how are they? Look's like the Dutch were ahead of their time with the over sized tactical bolt knob!
I 'm no expert on this gun, I was hoping to bring some out.

Very nice! In my pre divorce C&R collection I had two of the little Dutch carbines, they made quite a few different ones. Sadly all the rifles in this picture were sold in the great divorce collection split and sell off.

The Dutch are # 4 & # 5 from the top.

Thanks from Tommo and IH 1026

That's cool. Did you get any details, photos, or other records?

Hot brass, just where is your junk pile? Can I come take a peak In it? You either have had these cool old guns for awhile or you have a gold mine full of old gems!

I think my mom has a picture of him in uniform. No weapon though. The Dutch were neutral during WW1 so he did no fighting.

A GORGEOUS little carbine!! I've wanted one of these since first seeing them advertised for $19.95 in the early 1950's AMERICAN RIFLEMAN magazine.
