Not for me...

I've come to kinda like the AR-15 a bit, but there have just been too many problems reliability wise with AR-10 pattern rifles. Bias aside, they shoulda stayed with the M14, it was already there, no reason to change as they had a winner with the MOD 0'd M14s.

Thank God I am my own purchasing agent lol.

The reason for that was there was NO "Mil-Spec" for the AR10, pretty much all the manufacturers were doing their own thing, that also made building one hit & miss because of little standards, you couldn't just slap uppers/lowers & parts together without getting it from the same manufacturer, it was less of a headache (And Cheaper) to buy a complete rifle.

Why I gave up on the idea and was content with my M1A. Perhaps this adoption changes things now they'll be a standard...

Is that a piston driven action?

Yeah it's piston driven I heard it's very similar to the German's G28 dmr.

I would hope so, if they mentioned it in the video I didn't hear it. I did hear it wS meant to be suppressed all the time. This will make any firearm run a lot dirtier and limit the rounds fired I between cleaning. With my limited time with a suppressor the standard AR gas system gets really filthy quick. Never shot a piston AR suppressed.

This is the way the m110 should of been in the beginning. The problem was that the Army wanted a do all semi auto, something that could replace the m24 also. Well they ended up with a rifle that was ok and way to big and heavy. I absolutely hate cleaning the m110 after firing that thing, so piston operation is great. Don't get me wrong they have come a long way with it, but when they had the opportunity to adopt a short light sniper system they screwed it all up. I was pumped when the Army put out this request and I hope the USMC adopts it as well.

As a sniper system, how much does the short barrel and suppressor impact long range accuracy. Is it a 1000 yard rifle?

Longer is nice when shooting long range for added velocity, but even the full size m110 by the book is supposedly an 800m gun. Shooting out to 1000yards with the m110 isn't that crazy. It's like any 308 shooting a 175 smk at around 2575 fps. I imagine if they have a mission that will require some long shots that they will bring their 300wm along. Every tool has a purpose.

According to HK's website, the G28 has a guaranteed 1.5" MOA with match grade ammo.

If the rifle is NATO 7.62 x 51 why would they select an 8 twist?? Perhaps I am confused(not an uncommon experience for me) but if it is 5.56mm/223 understand the 8 twist.
Is the rifle 308 or 223??

It's an MR762 with a couple of other doo dads. My buddy has one(MR762). It's a shooter. Not quite bolt action accurate but the close to it. Of course it should be for $3,500 dollhairs.
With my reloads we were getting 3/4 moa at 100m. Grapefruits at 550m.
I'm almost positive that anyone with a brain could build themselves a silimar DI rifle and get the same accuracy. It's probably been done already. Those rifle just don't have HK on the side of em.
Not knocking HK for doing a wonderful job with their rifle....but I'll pass because of the price tag with my budget.

I'm more impressed with the supressor.

Robbie said it has a fluted chamber. Does it use the roller-delayed blowback system?

Not bad but the same problem we had with the SR25 variants will stick around. There is no "mil spec" for the AR10s. Unlike the M16 family.with specific specs for each and every part. H&K got in with the not needed M27 and now we will be purchasing all of their over priced firearms.

The government is done with the M14 and I'm no sure why. We all loved them in theatre.
