I finally got my IWI Galil out to the range and shot it at 100yds. Mine is in 7.62x51 (.308) and the optic on it currently is a Trijicon 4x red dot. It shoots 1" groups with the same handloads I use for my M1A's...this thing fires so good I am considering putting on an actual 3-9x40 scope to see if it will shoot g roups even better than that!
I had two friends at a private range and they BOTH managed to shoot 1" groups once they got used to the trigger.
The only thing about this rifle that I would change "out of the box" so far is the trigger. It is a very long pull! However, that said, I didn't purchase this to be a "precision" rifle! But since it shoots this good, I am considering seeing what it can really do!
The accuracy on this rifle is amazing for what it is! I bought it as an alternative to my SOCOM which I'm not crazy about in it's current configuration. Of course, I haven't tried to 'tune" the SOCOM with some of the changes mentioned on the forum here that would make it possibly more accurate! I don't like to mess with a rifle with only a few range outings!
Just my .02!
