Minimal wear The typical stuff, selector switch, brass discoloration on the dust cover. Bore is very good with strong rifling no pitting. No scratches on stock or finish, no abuse. Finish is very good.

Good deal on an SAR-48 if it's in that condition. Even the post-ban SAR-4800 would be a good deal at $1200, but better for a 48 - and even better if you can shave some more off of it! I'd buy it.

Well that's good to know. Next question quality wise is it as good or better then DSA. Since this will be a shooter as opposed to a collector for me. DSA's are running about the same price. Cheers Joe

SAR 48 is much better then a DSA, they were made complete at Imbel on the same production line as Brazilian military FAL's on equipment licensed from FN, I had two SAR 48's a standard and a bush rifle

The SAR-48 is the real deal , it's a damn nice rifle , miles ahead of the current DSA.
$1200 is not out of line at all for a decent example , but I'd offer $1000 just to see if they bite, you never know.
You could use the savings on magazines and a little ammo.
If they stand firm at $1200, buy it anyways, it's a lot of rifle for the money, you wont be disappointed.
Good Luck , and send photos when she's yours.

Thanks from cjjtulsa and Red Leg

I had no ideal SAR-48's were so thought after. I'll get over there on the 5th and make him a offer its been there for a couple of months I'm not worried about it walking and if it does it wasn't meant to be. Thanks all for the advice.

Yes - the Springfield rifles are in high demand, and have a great reputation. $1200 for a pre-ban SAR-48 is a very good price, as most I see go in the $1500 area. The Belgians are the gold standard, with the factory-built Imbels close behind. Good find.

It's a factory built FAL , licensed by Fabrique National in a world of parts guns ,
some of which were put together by Homer & Jethro.

I wish I could get a hold of one for that price. I would buy one in a heart beat.
I am going to settle for a Ruger SR762 I think.

That is a great price for a solid FAL.
At the very worst you will get your money back if you decide to sell later.
If you pass, let me know. I might make a day trip.
