AK fans what can you tell me about this bayonet??

I'm not looking for a value just what is it. I acquired this from a Hungarian soldier while I was deployed to Hungary years ago and always wondered about it. I've never owned a AK so I never had a use for it. The bayonet has markings all over it as well as the scabbard.

On the bayonet I see a M circled along with a archery arrow in a triangle, and 36/2 on the handle. Also on the handle is OTK.

On the scabbard is OTK, further down are random H O. Back side OTK 11. Toward the middle backside is 76 then at the bottom back side is another archary arrow in a triangle. Thanks for any ideas.

Can you post some close ups of the markings? Sounds like it is Russian actually rather then Hungarian, I will look through some of my stuff tomorrow to see.

Thanks from SA762

AK-74 BAYONET - Russian Izhevsk arrow in triangle (scabbard). Missing the lanyard (but it has a leather strap thingy) but it does have the leather frog. Original Russian military bayonets are hard to find in the USA.

That is a nice looking bayonet. Its sad, I came home with about 15 russian bayonets in 2004. I only have one left and its not Russian.

Your bayonet is made by Izhevsk.

I've got a similar one I brought home from Mogadishu. I'll have to dig it out and take another look at it.

You've been absent way too often as of late cmshoot, you still have time to redeem yourself and make a passing grade prior to the end of the school year.

SA762, your bayonet will fit 7.62x39 AKM's and semi auto clones as well as 5.45x39 Ak-74's and semi auto clones.

Thanks from SA762
