The SAR-48 is a true FAL, assembled by Imbel as complete rifles in Brazil. You did very well, and it will give you many years of fine service. Enjoy.

Yeah I am working this Saturday and sunday....

I just received that little wrench from DSA yesterday along with those poly gun green bag's, for storage. I do not need the wrench to adjust the gas system.

If your working weekends you'll get a pass, how about a range report as soon as possible? I'm interested to see how well that beauty can shoot.

I'm jealous although I have a DSA 58 STG which is a great FAL

On the gas system just remember "Left less" (Less ejection force)

Those STG 58's are good FAL's to.

Let's see a picture of yours!

Ray55 you said in another thread you have a STG58 how do you like it?

I might be going tomorrow, I'll let you know how it shoots.

So aren't the DSA STG 58's built using the original Austrian parts kits?

I don't know much about FAL's So which ones are the best?
SAR-48 Or Belgium FN's Or the STG58's?

I am guessing those three are all Metric rifles.

They were built with original parts until they ran out a few years back. DSA bought the spare parts, tooling and gauges from the Austrians. They had some teething problems with machining the complex bolt which they solved. Now they are completely USA made parts like we see for the m14. Last year the army bought 200 of them for familiarization training. Probably for AFRICOM. So I'm guessing they are good to go with USA parts.

Congrats on the FAL, she is purdy. Best is very subjective in the FAL world. Some lust over StG58s or other hard to find ones like a nice BGS build. Others will be just as happy with a very nice Imbel made rifle. Me, I love my two G1 kit builds. One is on a Coonan reciever, the other is on a DSA reciever.

Originally they used everything but the upper receiver. As they ran out of Austrian parts they started making their own parts much as SAI has on the newer M1A's

Yours doesn't take a back seat to anyone's

Absolutely, Fal's are metric ,L1A1's are inch. Just so you know SAI also sold a heavy barrel Israeli type and a folding paratrooper model and maybe a couple more I don't know of

Nice pickup! I really like my STG-58. Built on a LMT machined DSA receiver!

Thanks from TheShooter
