Vector Arms Uzi Clone

Many years ago I traded a genuine Uzi 9mm carbine straight up for for my first M1A. I thought I'd made a killing just based on retail prices at the time. I've always missed that Uzi even though it was just a play thing. No telling what it would be worth today since they banned the import of them years ago. (Not to say I don't appreciate the M1A. It's still my best shooter.)

I had been looking at an Uzi clone recently but it was way down my wish list until all this anti-gun stuff started. So I ordered one around Christmas just in case. I ordered the 45 ACP model since (1) I already have a 9mm carbine and (2) I have a thing about carbines that match up with pistols so I can use the same ammo.

It was supposed to take 2-3 months to get here and I was sweating about a new decree from King Barry. But it showed up today.

Most of the parts are IMI except for the receiver itself.

And how much was this?

I will never forget the footage of the secret service whipping one of these out.

I got it from Kelley Enterprises. They are still standing by the pre-craze prices that are posted on their site. This was the first time I have ever dealt with this company and I have to say I was a little nervous about paying up front and then waiting for delivery. But I can say they have stood by everything they promised, plus got the gun to me much faster than anticipated.

Nice score! Vector has a great quality record.

I also had an original Uzi I bought after the gipper got shot. Traded if for a deer rifle and a GP100.

Last time I ever traded or sold a firearm.....

Kicking myself ever since.

Have fun with that.

This gun uses .45 grease gun mags with one slight modification that can be done in about 5 minutes with a dremel tool. I found a source of brand new, quality 30-rd grease gun mags for $25 each and have an order on the way right now. I couldn't believe they have magazines in stock. (Don't get too excited, they are out of mags for all the more popular guns but if you have something off the beaten path, it may be worth a look at keepshooting.com)
