It is indeed a launcher for the No4 MkI. In the late 80's I bought one for $25. I already had several No4 MkI rifles and now the hunt was on for some cartridges. I finally found some and they were original British in a box of 32. Funnest $8 I ever spent. The US practice grenades were plentiful and they slid right on. Fully seated on the spigot, they travelled about 300-325 yards when the rifle was propped at a 45 degree angle. I had a ball with it. Lost a few projectiles along the way, but they were cheap. While I never broke or split a stock, I was always wary of the possibility. The launch was always pretty violently impressive and always attracted attention at the range. Mike
