I don't have specifics, but I treated it like a 308 when it came to loading.

And do you know that WIN 284 brass is easily sized and used in that gun?

No Speer bullets, but I have used Sierra's excellent 150 gr FBSP and 180gr Hornady SSTs with good results.

I shot mine for the first time in a match a couple of weeks ago. Had a 272-6x which I was happy with since I had only shot 5 rounds to sight it in before that.
Had a 98-3x slow fire all tight. This was with Swiss GP-11 surplus
I had to think about pulling that bolt since my tendency is to knock it up.

I have not reloaded for it yet but there is a lot of great info here:

I have had good sucess with 42.0 gr of H4895 and that bullet be sure to check your OAL as the Swiss throat is shorter than most rifles Mine ended up being 2.900"
Also be sure your cases are sized so that the bolt goes to full lock I had some fail to fire problems that I'm still sorting out just haven't had time to get back to it lately

As stated above lots of good info on the Swiss forum

Guys are gonna make me cry. Just sold my K-31. Nicest I'd ever laid my eyes on, pleasure to shoot and one very, very accurate rifle. Got a case of GP-11 if anyone looking.

I lubed the bolt cams/ bolt body with moly and the bolt is much easier to pull back when it resets the firing pin as it rotates too.

The swiss actually use a moly grease in there spec on bolt lubes.

The swiss GP11 ammo is considered a quality match ammo even though its a surplus ammo.

Sorry guys i'm a little ignorant when it comes to long range shooting and probably never will do it since i'm disabled. I been wondering whats the longest you have shot the swiss k31's with the orginal iron sights? I just took 8 swiss k31's out of my safe and i want to test fire one.

This is a good start. (Swiss rifles is what I do)

And this for the novice 7.5 Swiss reloader.

This one is one of our long range load data testing k31's.

And this one is one of my personal favorites from my Father.

Dave, I should mention that 284 will work most of the (extraction) time in a k31, but it's exceptional for the 1911sr Long Rifle and the k11.

hi,

I shot with my k31 since 2003 and usually i reloarding mine cartridge with a bullet of 174 FMJBT grs PARTIZAN or 168 HPBT grs SIERRA. The powder is SNPE T 5000 but you don't find it in USA.
SO, if you find GP 11 cartridges, buy them, because they are the best.
