WWII German RAD Dagger

Just thought I'd post a few pics of my WWII German Reichsarbeitsdienst (RAD) dagger.
Not a reproduction, missing the grips though.

It appears that it was issued to a 'Officer Heubert'

Very cool. Did you get it without the handles?

Unfortunately, no grips. I might search for some but I'm guessing they would be hard to find.

Ostfm. looks to be his rank, Oberstfeldmeister. Approximately equal to a captain.

Thumbs up

Outstanding!

The Germans may have had a hosed-up philosophy, but you have got to admit they definitely had Style!
Very nice!

GaryNH, thanks for the correction the 't' in Ostfm threw me off a bit.

Sustinemus, They did have some very cool gear. Have you seen the ss dagger(design wise, that one is probably my favorites)

Yes! I like the styling of all of that old Wehrmacht and SS stuff, from bunkers to uniforms. The MG-42 is one of the sexiest weapons ever devised. Too bad the sights suck. Even the Luger is cool looking, though I'd never trade my M1911 for one.

The only stuff like that I have though is some old coins and a repro Luftwaffe badge (which I gave away).

Very cool! I have a small coin collection some decent pieces along with (now complete) 50 state quarts., presidential $ coins, indian head cents, buffalo nickels, some international coins (1 Roman) but no nazi coins...
I also have a couple of original nazi arm bands (passed down with the dagger, i believe).
