As a young aspiring martial artist I trained with many mostly wooden hand weapons of Asian origin in addition to empty hand techniques. As an old has-been I train a little and now I need to be really careful.

This is true and I know where one is that I may eventually add.
The knives you see here are mostly recent production stainless. The double-edge sword is home-made from a titanium blank that made into a dull training weapon some 40 years ago. I recently had an edge put on it and now it is a true weapon. The dai-sho were just decorative replicas also from 40 years ago until I got a hold of a couple of late 16th and mid 17th century blades relatively cheap and cleaned up to mount in the same furniture.

Thanks from mau

Like those Bowies!

When I was about 13, my grandfather died. I was allowed to take one item from his estate. One choice was a IXL bowie from Sheffield (sharpened on a bench grinder!?!) or a old Kukri. I still have the IXL, wish I had the kukri too.
