Anyone know a source for replacement springs for the M6 Bayonet?

If I remember correctly there are two helical springs in the M6. I don't know anyplace that stocks the parts for them. It shouldn't be too hard to find the quality specs for such springs. From that you should be able to purchase two springs of equal or higher quality to rebuild the bayonet.
There are members of this forum who probably know where to look up the specifications for these parts. Hopefully one or more of them will notice this thread.
Worse case if you don't have the original springs any longer you may need to disassemble a good M6 to measure the springs and start from there.
Check the size of the wire, the number of coils in the spring, and the length of the spring when it's relaxed.

I have the specs for the spring. The engineering drawing for the bayonet only shows one spring. I dont have the original, it was gone long before I salvaged the bayonet. Was hoping to get the exact part instead of a replacement that may or may not work as good. In case anyone is interested here are the specs for the spring.

You might want to send a PM to member Bill Ricca. Or move this question over to his sub forum here. He knows the NSN system and he may even know someone (including himself) who has the parts.

Post M6 Bayonet Parts Search

Have you tried a google search for the NSN? There are several companies that specialize in government surplus. If you don't mind a replacement, try MSC Industrial Supply. I havn't used their on line search, but their huge catalog lists many pages of springs by size. I have found many over the years.

Hope this helps

That was my first step. Unfortunately they all seem to have a minimum order of at least $250. The only one that actually gave me a quote wanted $25 each with a minimum order of twenty springs...

Found this!
I can't speak to whether or not it's original U.S. contract parts or not. But it's better than a $250-500 solution.
