Help ID my bayonet

This is my bayonet. I really have no use for it but I am interested in learning more about it. Anyone out there a bayonet wizard?

Looks like a 1903 bayonet. Whether original or repro can't tell from the pics.

I feel like replying with a smart ass comment but will hold my tongue. It says 1903 on the bayonet. Anything else besides the obvious?

MOD 1903 FOR 03 SPRINGFIELD.

it says 1913 on the blade, year it supposedly was made at springfield armory.

As hawk said could be a chiforgery.

It appears polished which would make it a parade piece or a forgery.

If that is a white sheath it might be a navy parade piece.

I believe that would be a M1905 bayonet for the M1903 Springfield rifle and it shows a manufacture date of 1913. If original, it looks to have been chromed.

Yes, Model 1905. The original 1903 rifles used a rod type bayonet that was proved unsatisfactory. Replaced by the blade type in 1906. (the bayonet was designated the M1905, the year of its design and acceptance).

Probably from a military school or honor guard - do you have the chromed rifle that was once with it?
