They are rare and not much in the way documentation or general knowledge about them. It's hard to say what the one on the bay could go for. Sometimes the prices make little to no sense. But there are collectors from other parts who don't have the kind of access to our militaria that we do. This doesn't mean that just because you see one go for lots of money that you can expect to sell one at your local gun show or flea market for anywhere near the same money.
I would have thought that a reasonable price for one of these would have been around $200-250 for one in excellent condition with an original scabbard. But I expect it will sell for much more at this point.
