One zombie movie on the other evening one guy used a sledge hammer & another aluminum baseball bat. Both worked fine & are within my budget. LOL

The blades aren't the best work horses though.

Fit and finish isn't as nice as Cas Iberia, but the 9260 through-tempered spring steel blades are insane. They hold a good edge and are nearly indestructible.. as in hammer a blade into a log, bend it 90 degrees and rope it down for a night. Still won't take a permanent bend.

The differentially tempered 9260 aren't as bend proof, but nearly so .. and they hold a sharper edge.

The trouble with cheness is that the fit and finish isn't perfect, and the furniture options are limited. Their mission is to bring high quality blades that aren't going to break to working class martial artists who will use them hard.

If you're willing to make a project of it though, you can build ridiculous working swords. There are plenty of destructive testing vids of Cheness swords around. Their "Tenchi" sword is really a game changer in a lot of ways.

THey are probably the best hawk out there. One piece hammer forged and made in the USA. They have quite a wait for us citizens due to the high demand of the troops. If only I had a few hundred $$$ to spend

I watched a video of them peeling the side of a van open with one of their tomahawks.

When I went to the website, the first thing I thought was "Mall Ninja". My normal machete will do just fine at a whole lot less money. My two cents

I'd rather rock the Cold Steel's Vietnam Tomahawk...

That and you can't beat there Tantos just in case you need to repeatedly stab a car door...

This sword reminds me a bit of a Japanese Wakizashi, though the point may be better for stabbing than the Wakizashi. Not sure if the back is sharp enough to do work cutting, though it may be. If it isn't, then I am not sure I would want the loss of blade metal. I LIKE the fact it looks like the grip is long enough for a two hand hold. I can not help but feel a Tsuba (guard) for that sword would have a definite virtue and it could also be made of more modern materials for the non traditionalist.

OBTW, I am NOT well versed in Japanese Edged weapons though I have some little knowledge. So please don't think I am trying to suggest I am something I'm not.
I'm not sure whether he's doing a sharpened edge on the sword Gus. It could just be shaped for better through body cutting and stabbing, and rounded or dulled at the edge, but you never know. He's a custom builder and at that price I'd think he'd do it however you wanted.

I love the blade shape and it is Wakizashi shaped to me also, but I think much guard isn't really needed these days without actually fighting someone else with sword compared to more likely someone with a club, bat or crowbar. It would probably get in the way more with some modern scabbards I'd say and strapping it to a pack or vest with Molle. This is just another option though and it's nice to have choices.
