Can Someone Recommend a Folding Gut Hook Knife That is American Made
and also a Good Knife Sharpener
Please Don't Break the Bank for me Either
Deer Season is coming up . a friend is going to let me hunt his 400 acres for Shotgun/Slug season
This model is from the early 1980s while Gerber still made their knives in the U.S. I've got this same model knife (I bought it back in the 80s) and I really like how it holds an edge. The saw even works well enough to actually be useful. The gut hook is sharp and works well as a skinning blade. The handle is light plastic or Micarta? To change blades you pull the lock to about half way through it's travel and turn the blade 90 degrees. Then you pull the blade toward the tail of the knife and it comes out.
P.S. - as others have noted, price for U.S. made knives are all pretty high, that's why I posted the link, the knife is going for $11, you can't beat that especially since the knife was made in the U.S.
