Devine For Sale At Dury's Gun Shop

Stopped by Dury's Gun Shop (San Antonio) and they have a Devine there for sale, asking $2,499. I thought the number was 1965, but I didn't write it down and now I'm not positive, maybe 1695. It has the one line address on the barrel, Rt 1 Box 210 Devine Tex. It looked like it could be bedded. They also had three other M1A's there.

Post Dury Gun - good to go

I pulled two M1A's out of there maybe two years ago. A 4K serial # and a 5K serial number gun. Both match guns, and they settled for much less than the "asking" price.

I saw it Nov 30 and it had a bolt stop on it. The rifle is nice as far as you can see. The stock has been refinished & at least two small splits repaired. Devine barrel. Very interesting as I have never seen one in person.

Post Devine For Sale At Dury's Gun Shop

Luisa at Dury's is willing to let the Devine go at $2150.00 if anyone is interested. I think I will hold out for a 3 serial numbered one. I only want to own one Devine and want him to be the "perfect" one for me! :)-

That would make it number 1695. The SSN is the original purchaser that bought the rifle from Elmer for $274 and some change in late 73, or early 74. When I bought the rifle it had only been fired 8rds. I paid $1200 for it in San Antonio between 1998 and 2000. By coincidence Elmer Ballance was standing there when I bought it. I doubt it's still there but it had an original AMU match spring guide. I sold it a couple years ago outside of Corpus.

Missing Bolt Lock

Yes, the #1695 is missing the bolt lock. It came with a Quick release which failed and caused thumb injurys. Drury's knew it was missing and the photo showed it missing. I takes about 2-Minutes to install a new one. Yes, the scope hole was used, it had a Leatherwood scope on it at one time and a EBR stock also. The gun shot half minute groups at 400 and 500 yards when it was in the EBR stock. The gun was replaced in trade in for a two digit Devine gun and a M40A1 Quantico gun.

I don't see it in the inventory. It must've sold.
