Wow is right, that is a minty looking rifle. Now here is the question...do you plan to shoot it, or is this to be a collectors piece? Are you going to modify it, or leave it as is? Add a scope? By the looks of the condition of that E2 stock that is a valuable piece of wood, too nice to be banging around hauling to the range. What type of stock would have as a spare? Military w/cutout and DOD proofs? Commercial walnut? Fiberglass? Camo? So many choices...

If you call Elmer Ballance with the serial number he will most likely he able to tell you. As mentioned in an earlier post, many of the early rifles he built we stocked with the E2 wood. I called him about my rifle and when I gave him the serial number he described the rifle to me! That was a number of years ago, but he may still be able to help you.
