When I bought it it came with the 2nd gen mount that screws into the Sid of the 5 round clip loader and rings. I had a spare Redfied Accutrack SA branded so I put it on. It actually held well and was nice for 3 round bursts in the prone position with the sling thru the hand paddle a GI bipod and held firmly downward.

Samnev, out of curiousity, are there any Texas address markings on the barrel? TIA

Yes it has the standard Devine, Tx markings on the underside of the barrel. That picture has been provided to the OP.

Thanks from Different

I examined the gun in person today. it is a beauty. the barrel markings are identical to the markings on 00916 shown earlier in this thread. other than the Springfield Armory markings and serial number, there are no other markings on the receiver. the receiver has not been cut or rewelded. the receiver appears idenitcal to two other m14's I examined today. it sure looks like a factory select fire receiver.

Thanks from Different and Deacon

David,
Thanks for the nice writeup on my M1A. It was nice to finally meet you after 2 previous transactions.

Nice rifle!

I see the sportsman guide has good price on steel ammo from lower slovobia. Maybe a little corroded, but not bad. 1954 era. Think that would feed this hungry beast??
