I found a reparked 'devine'...

I found a 3 digit Devine. It has been reparked...

Does anybody have anything to compare this too...
I am thinking of pulling the trigger on this but am worried that the repark takes the value like it does every other refinished gun.
What do you guys thiink? I have been saving to make an offer.

It is still a Devine...

Let's see the receiver.

I think that depending on how good the reparking job is it won't effect the value much.

Because it is a commercial reproduction gun to start with, it shouldn't make a difference. But as with anything these days, you ask 6 people and you will get 7 different answers.

Is the whole gun reparked or just the barrel? How does it gauge? I've seen these go for more than a new LRB. Cool find.

It may affect it a little, but I don't think as much as a reblued antique firearm. I think it would still be a good investment if you can get it at a good price. Overall condition would be my main concern. As Harleystoo mentioned, check for barrel wear and other parts. I wouldn't offer a premium if the barrel is shot out, the headspace is excessive, etc. I wish you well in your decision. If you get it, we want more pics!

Two of my all original 3 digit Devine's have the exact same barrel stampings so, at least the barrel and receiver are original Devine, TX built parts. I don't think the repark would effect a lot of the value.

I presume you have checked the entire gun to see it is indeed a Devine and not something that had a Devine barrel put on it....
And I presume it is all reparkered....
If it is all Devine - that is a cool find, if you want a Devine... being refinished may reduce total value a little but, as others have said, not a lot IMO.
Its not like putting cold blue on a 1915 Fox.......

Thanks from MAC702

Other than the total repark. It is an original Devine. The receiver numbers in the 60x range. TE and me at 1.5-2 sak-nm barrel. I am going to make an offer wish me luck!

That rifle has been on Gunbroker off and on for many months at a reserve of $3995, if my recollection doesn't fail me. He also stated in his ads that the stock was completely refinished but he failed to mention the total repark of the metal. The total repark was obvious from the pictures including the one you put up. Original Devines have bare white metal in the barrel marking because that is the last thing that was done prior to assembling and sending them out. As I recall it is not a completely NM rifle as the stock is not bedded and the gas system isn't NM. As I recall it had NM sights and a SAK NM barrel. Also a draw back is that he showed a group that was shot by him at 25 yards that was not anything to write home about. It would have been good has it been shot at 100 yards. It has been discussed on the Devine section here previously and continued to go begging. As I recall he says he got it from a forum Marine and the seller claimed to teach "long range" rifle at the Whittington Center in Raton and lives somewhere in northern New Mexico.

Thanks from edgartwib

If the piece in the OP is the same or close to the gun described by flintsghost I'd walk away well before 3K. IMHO there are still good opportunities to find a better example for less. Buy the gun and not the dream.

This rifle actually finally sold on gunbroker just a couple of weeks ago for around $2600. The owner had been trying to sell it off and on since back in January sometime.

Thanks from Different
