Sorry about asking a question that couldn't be answered without breaking the rules. I did some research. I've found out that most of these could be had for about $250 or so in the early to mid 1970s. I can't find very many for sale now but I have seen a few for sale recently online. They ranged in price from $3000 to over $5000, and none of those were scoped. I haven't been able to find out a price on the ART IV scope, and I'm not asking for anyone to price it now, but can someone tell me where to look for those? Should mine having the scope increase the value? How are these rifles graded? How do I find someone to professionally grade mine. I don't want to screw anybody or lie to them about its condition. But I kind of hate to sound dumb if I post it in the PX for sale and don't have all my ducks in a row to answer questions somewhat intelligently.
OK I have reached a decision. I want to sell the rifle, scope, and all paperwork that I have with it. I can even include a box of lake city match ammo (if legal). The whole package is in a hard rifle case to hold it all. I have not seen any devines sell for under $3000, and can't find one with the scope at all. My asking price is $3500. For the whole package. I will try to get to all the folks who have PM'd me in the next day or two. I have a bunch more pics that I will upload. Always feel free to call or text me at 864-nine one five-8172 or email me directly at firstname.lastname@example.org
My Devine M1A was numbered 000237. Bought in 1976 for $250 included sling. 2 mags and 100 rnds of 308. It would fire military surplus quite well, but not reloads for some reason. Sold it in 1989 for $500.
